Strengthen Your Relationship With A Safe, Loving God
6-Month Group Coaching Program for Christian Women Healing from Religious Trauma
Maybe You've Been Wondering...
“Why do I feel so anxious all the time?” Or maybe you’ve been secretly thinking, “I’m just being rebellious or selfish.”
You still love God. You’re not trying to throw your faith away. But something feels… off. And that’s okay. In fact, it’s more than okay—it’s the first step toward healing.
You have permission to question, to heal, and to come home to God, to yourself, and to those you love—without losing your faith.
What If I Told You There Was A Different Way?
A Way That Doesn't Ask You To Abandon Your Faith Or Betray Your Past. A Way That Doesn't Require You To "Just Get Over It"
What If Healing Could Feel Like Coming Home?
THE COMING HOME JOURNEY isn’t just another course or program. It’s a healing expedition—a gentle, Spirit-led pilgrimage through the landscape of your own heart, guided by women who speak your language and understand your story.
This is the one-of-a-kind, heart-healing adventure I wish I’d had when I was sitting where you are now. It’s the journey that takes you from whispering, “I don’t feel close to God anymore,” to declaring, “I am finally free to be myself with Him.”
This Journey Is Different Because...
1. It’s faith-affirming, not faith-destroying.
While other approaches to religious trauma may leave you spiritually homeless, the Coming Home Journey leads you deeper into God’s true heart—not away from Him. You’ll discover the difference between the God you were taught to fear and the God who’s been loving you all along.
2. It’s trauma-informed and soul-gentle.
Every milestone, every conversation, every healing tool has been crafted with the understanding that your heart has been tender and your trust has been tested. There’s no pressure to rush, perform, or “get over” anything. Just gentle invitation to heal at your own pace.
3. It addresses the ROOT, not just the symptoms.
Instead of giving you more spiritual techniques or behavior modifications, we go to the source—those 12 Hidden Barriers that have been silently shaping your life. When you dissolve the barriers, the symptoms naturally heal. This means lasting transformation rather than quick fixes.
4. It’s community-centered, not isolated.
You won’t heal in isolation. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive circle of women who truly understand—who have wrestled with God, questioned what they were taught, and dared to believe there might be something more beautiful on the other side of pain.
Imagine If You...
✔️ Knew you weren’t the only one who felt spiritually anxious even when doing everything “right”
✔️ Were finally free to ask honest questions without fear of being misunderstood
✔️ Could discover God’s true heart instead of the version you were taught to fear
✔️ Felt close to God again without the fear and performance
✔️ Had a community that sees and celebrates the real you
✔️ Stopped carrying shame you couldn’t even explain
✔️ Could heal without feeling like you’re betraying everyone you love

What Is Keeping You Stuck?
You're Not Rebellious. You're Not Broken. And You're Not Wrong For Noticing That Something Doesn't Feel Right.
You Can't Heal What You Can't Name
BUT ONCE YOU BREAK THROUGH THE 12 HIDDEN BARRIERS OF RELIGIOUS TRAUMA, YOU’RE FINALLY SET FREE TO COME HOME.
What you may be experiencing are the invisible aftershocks of religious trauma. These hidden barriers create patterns that keep you feeling stuck, anxious, and disconnected—even when you’re trying to do everything “right.”
Now, I know that might feel heavy. When we hear “religious trauma,” we might think of extreme cases—cults or scandals we’ve seen on the news. But religious trauma can be much more subtle than that.
Here’s one way of explaining it:
Religious trauma, sometimes called spiritual or faith-based trauma, happens when your spiritual beliefs, practices, or experiences cause psychological, emotional, or even physical harm.
This can stem from extreme events, but more often, it’s the subtle, persistent pain caused by the misrepresentation of God, the misuse of power, or fear-based systems of control.
It can happen in “good Christian homes.” Behind closed doors. In churches that seem loving on the surface. Through well-meaning people who pass down generational patterns without realizing the harm.
These INVISIBLE AFTERSHOCKS might show up as:
- Second-guessing every emotion, wondering if you’re “too sensitive” or “too much”
- Feeling guilty for needing rest, boundaries, or time for yourself
- Being afraid to ask honest questions about your faith or church
- Carrying shame that you can’t explain, even when you’ve “done everything right”
- Feeling spiritually invisible—like God notices everyone else but not you
And these aftershocks create Hidden Barriers that keep you feeling stuck, ashamed, or spiritually disconnected long after the damage was done.
Maybe you’ve tried everything you can think of to feel close to God again. You’ve prayed harder. Served more. Read more devotions. Tried to “just have more faith.”
But late at night, when the house is quiet, you still whisper the same questions:
“Why do I feel so far from God?” “Is it rebellion to question my church?” “What if I’m being deceived?” “Maybe I’m just too sensitive, too emotional, too much?”
Here’s what I’ve discovered through my own journey and walking with many women: The problem isn’t your faith. The problem isn’t you. The problem is the invisible barriers that religious trauma creates.
These aren’t barriers you can see. They’re the aftershocks that keep playing beneath the surface—long after the original harm was done.
HERE’S HOW THEY MIGHT BE SHOWING UP IN YOUR LIFE
Barrier #1 – I’m Invisible
“If I speak, will it matter? If I’m honest, will it cost me?”
You've spent your life making yourself small.
You were praised for being quiet, for “not making waves,” for knowing your place.
Your gifts were overlooked unless they served others. Your pain went unseen unless you turned it into a testimony.
Deep down, you wonder:
Does God even notice me? Is my story worth telling?
Barrier #2 – I’m Not Enough
“No matter how hard I try, it’s never enough—not for them, not for God, not even for me.”
You're bone-deep tired from trying to be the perfect Christian woman—submissive, joyful, servant-hearted.
Every prayer, every act of service, every sacrifice still leaves you feeling like you’re falling short. You believe you have to earn God’s favor.
When you’re tired or frustrated, you assume it’s your fault for not trying harder.
Barrier #3 – I’m Bad
“Maybe I’m just broken. Maybe there’s something wrong in me.”
You carry shame like a second skin.
Any time you struggle, you hear the old voice: “You’re not spiritual enough. You’re selfish. You’re the problem.” When you look at the ways you learned to cope—perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown—you blame yourself.
You don’t see these as trauma responses; you see them as proof of your sinfulness.
Barrier #4 – I’m Not Safe
“If I say the wrong thing… will I be rejected? If I follow my heart… will I be punished?”
Even outside toxic systems, you feel watched.
Your nervous system is constantly on edge—spiritually braced for correction or judgment. You’re afraid to relax into freedom because it feels unsafe.
The idea of trusting yourself feels dangerous.
The idea of trusting God? Even scarier.
AND THESE ARE JUST THE FIRST FOUR BARRIERS
There are eight more INVISIBLE PATTERNS quietly sabotaging your relationship with God, yourself, and others:
- “I’m Unlovable” — If they knew what I’ve felt, what I’ve done, what I’ve questioned… would they still love me?
- “I’m a Failure” — I’ve done all the right things… why does it still feel so wrong?
- “I’m Different (in the wrong way)“ — I’m too sensitive, too intellectual, too emotional, too analytical.
- “I Don’t Matter” — Other people’s needs always came first. Mine weren’t even on the list.
- “I Don’t Have” — I don’t have enough wisdom… faith… provision… strength.
- “I’m Too Much” — My emotions scare people. My boundaries offend them. My needs feel wrong.
- “I’m Unworthy” — Who am I to shine? Who am I to heal? To lead?
- “I Don’t Belong” — There’s nowhere I fully fit. Not in my old faith community—and not in the world either.
Do you recognize yourself in these patterns?
Here’s what breaks my heart: You’ve been trying so hard to fix what was never broken in the first place. You’ve been carrying shame that was never yours to carry. You’ve been fighting invisible battles without even knowing what you were fighting.
And here’s what happens when these barriers stay hidden:
✗ You keep feeling disconnected from God no matter how hard you try
✗ You second-guess every emotion, every instinct, every desire
✗ You stay stuck in cycles of guilt, shame, and spiritual performance
✗ You feel isolated even in community—especially in spiritual community
✗ You burn out from trying to be “good enough” for love that’s already yours
✗ You pass these same patterns down to your children without meaning to
But there’s hope.
Because once you can name these barriers, you can break through them.
Once you can see the patterns, you can heal them.
Once you understand these aren’t character flaws but trauma responses, EVERYTHING changes.
And that’s exactly what the COMING HOME JOURNEY does.

Pillars & Milestones in The Coming Home Journey
(Click on tabs below to see all the pillars and milestones in Coming Home Journey)
SEASON ONE
Leaving the Forest of Confusion
This is where we start—with gentle archaeological work on your own story.
In this season, you don’t just name what happened to you; you begin to understand how it shaped the very core of who you believe yourself to be. We’ll gently uncover the false beliefs that were planted in God’s name, and you’ll start to see your survival patterns not as character flaws, but as brilliant adaptations.
MILESTONE 1: INDIVIDUAL INSPIRATION
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Invisible” → Healing Theme: “My Soul Is Seen Through Glimpses of Grace”
Here, the journey begins with the most tender truth: God sees you. Not the performance version, not the “fixed” version, but the real, questioning, aching soul He created. Through the story of the woman with the issue of blood—who thought she had to sneak her healing—you’ll discover that Jesus stops for you. He calls you “Daughter.” Your story matters. Your voice matters. You matter.
MILESTONE 2: TRUE MOTIVATION
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Not Enough” → Healing Theme: “Aligned Integrity Produces Right Actions”
The exhausting treadmill of spiritual performance ends here. You’ll discover what it feels like to be motivated not by fear, guilt, or obligation, but by authentic inspiration. When people are truly inspired, they don’t need external motivation—the action itself becomes its own reward. No more pretending. No more pushing. Just truth that moves you naturally toward peace.
MILESTONE 3: AWARENESS – EYES WIDE OPEN
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Bad” → Healing Theme: “The Horizon Clears as I Embrace the Wisdom of Survival”
This is where shame meets compassion—and shame loses. Every pattern you developed—staying silent, over-explaining, shutting down emotions—was brilliantly adaptive. These weren’t character flaws; they were wise, God-orchestrated mechanisms that helped you survive environments where being yourself wasn’t safe. The confident woman you’ve become speaks truth to the surviving girl you once were: “You weren’t bad. You were surviving.”
MILESTONE 4: STANDING FREE
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Not Safe” → Healing Theme: “All the Paths Before Me Lead to Freedom”
Even after leaving toxic systems, you may still feel watched—constantly adapting to please others while protecting yourself. Here, you discover that freedom itself can be a safe space. You’ll learn to trust God as your security rather than managing everyone’s reactions. The ultimate healing: becoming the same authentic person everywhere you go—not perfect, but consistently yourself.
SEASON TWO
PILLAR 2: INSTILL THE TRUTH
Crossing the Bridge of Truth
This is where we rebuild—not just your faith, but your very identity.
In this season, you’ll discover who God really is (and who He isn’t). You’ll learn to distinguish between man-made religion and God’s authentic heart. Truth becomes more than information—it becomes the very foundation on which you build your new life.
MILESTONE 5: IN THE DEPTHS OF SACRED SORROW
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Unlovable” → Healing Theme: “An Inexpressible Love Heals Me”
You’ll discover the ancient, lost language of lament—learning that honest expression to God isn’t rebellion; it’s relationship. Through biblical lament, you experience ḥesed—God’s inexpressible, unconditional love that meets you in your deepest sorrow not with condemnation but with covenant faithfulness. This is where many women cry healing tears—not because they’re falling apart, but because they’re finally being held.
MILESTONE 6: GUIDED BY HONOR AND TRUTH
Hidden Barrier: “I’m a Failure” → Healing Theme: “I Navigate My Path with Correct Principles”
Rigid religious rules are replaced with life-giving divine principles—10 foundational truths (STRONGLIFE) that reveal God’s character: submission as mutual respect (not self-erasure), gentleness over force, individuality over conformity, free will as sacred, and love as decision rather than manipulation. These become your navigational compass, guiding you toward growth—not measuring your worthiness.
MILESTONE 7: THE HEAVENLY ALGORITHM – RECONNECTING HEART + MIND
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Different (in the wrong way)” → Healing Theme: “Discover the True Science of Salvation”
If you’ve been told you’re “too sensitive, too intellectual, too emotional, or too analytical,” this milestone reclaims the full range of your spiritual intelligence. Your sensitivity isn’t a liability but a lens through which God reveals truth. Your questions aren’t dangerous but evidence of a seeking heart. No part of you is wrong. All of you is welcome in God’s kingdom.
MILESTONE 8: RESTORING THE SACRED PARTS OF MY SOUL
Hidden Barrier: “I Don’t Matter” → Healing Theme: “The Divine Healing Methods and Tailored Techniques of Jesus”
Drawing directly from how Jesus treated people—especially those who were shamed, silenced, or marginalized—you’ll study His methods: He looked people in the eye, listened without judgment, dignified their experience, and made room for their full humanity. Jesus never shamed, silenced, or bypassed pain. His healing methods weren’t just loving—they were effective. And they still are. You begin to embody His gentle methods in how you treat yourself and others.
SEASON THREE
PILLAR 3: CREATE A NEW STORY
Finding My Fortress of Strength
This is where transformation becomes your lived reality.
In this final season, you don’t just heal from what was—you step boldly into what’s becoming. You discover not just who you are without the trauma, but who you were always meant to be. Your calling emerges. Your voice returns. Your life becomes a testament to God’s redemptive power.
MILESTONE 9: THE FEARLESS JOURNEY
Hidden Barrier: “I Don’t Have” → Healing Theme: “I Encounter Genuine Experiences on My Spirit-Led Path”
Spiritual scarcity is replaced with Divine provision as daily experience. You’ll recognize God’s leading not just as concept but as lived reality—through synchronicities, nudges, and affirmations that confirm you are not alone and that you already have what you need to walk forward. You move from second-guessing every decision to trusting your Spirit-led discernment.
MILESTONE 10: CONNECTED SOULS & DIVINE BONDS
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Too Much” → Healing Theme: “Navigating Authentic Relationships with Divine Boundaries and Sacred Intentions”
Relationships become safe spaces where you can be fully seen and fully yourself. You learn that having needs doesn’t make you needy, that boundaries aren’t betrayal, and that love can be honest and still be love. You discover how to release control, practice healthy boundaries, and engage with others from strength rather than survival patterns.
MILESTONE 11: MY HEART’S UNVEILING
Hidden Barrier: “I’m Unworthy” → Healing Theme: “The Tapestry of Transformation Has Woven Wisdom and Beauty Into My Life”
This milestone is about integration—reflecting on the woman you’ve become and beginning to trust her. You’ll see the wisdom woven into your story, the beauty in your process, and the worthiness in your presence. You begin to see yourself through the eyes of compassion, recognizing your healing as holy and your presence as powerful. This isn’t the end of the journey, but it’s a powerful turning point that says: I am no longer hiding.
MILESTONE 12: MY SOUL’S CALLING
Hidden Barrier: “I Don’t Belong” → Healing Theme: “Living Life on Purpose in a Realm of Meaningful Service”
In this culminating milestone, you step fully into the life that was always waiting for you. This doesn’t mean having all the answers—it means having the clarity, courage, and connection to live on purpose. You understand your unique calling not as pressure but as privilege. You finally feel the truth: you belong. Not because you were invited, but because you already do.
THIS ISN’T JUST HEALING. THIS IS METAMORPHOSIS.
THIS ISN’T JUST RECOVERY. THIS IS RENAISSANCE.
THIS ISN’T JUST GETTING BETTER. THIS IS COMING ALIVE.

THESE AREN'T JUST SUCCESS STORIES—THESE ARE LOVE LETTERS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF BREAKTHROUGH
Every woman you’re about to meet was once exactly where you are now—wondering if healing was possible, if God still loved them, if there was a way forward that didn’t mean losing everything they held dear.
Here’s what became possible when they said yes to the Coming Home Journey…
Simone came to the program in the middle of a major life transition—living alone for the first time, starting a new job, trying to hold herself together emotionally while old anxieties surfaced in new ways.
SIMONE FARINHOLT, Nurse, Teacher, Speaker
I used to chase love, thinking it was something I had to earn or search for. But I’ve come to see that love has been here the whole time—in God, in the people around me, and even in myself.”
BEFORE: “I was struggling with fear. Fear in my relationships, fear in my faith. I didn’t know if I’d ever experience a true connection—especially a romantic connection—after recent heartbreak. Spiritually, I felt something was off. I noticed this tension between the God I personally sensed and the religious expectations around me.”
THE BREAKTHROUGH: “One of the most powerful moments happened during a live group call when I was coached through a breakthrough. I found the strength to rewrite the story I’d been believing about myself. To have that witnessed and to see it inspire others—it was transformational.”
WHAT CHANGED: “My mindset has shifted. I’ve gone from judgment and fear to curiosity and grace. I feel more optimistic. I believe in myself again. And my faith? It feels rooted—not in fear or performance, but in real connection with God and with others.”
HER MESSAGE TO YOU: “To any woman who’s reading this and wondering if it’s possible to heal—my answer is yes. Don’t let fear convince you otherwise. Your healing is not only possible, it’s sacred. And you don’t have to do it alone.”

My relationship with God has changed. It's no longer about doing all the 'right things' so He won't leave me. It's about love. It's about trust.
TEKYIA ROACH, Mother, Life Coach, Winter Cohort 2024
Tekyia had already been on a personal journey with God after coming out of a narcissistic marriage, but she still carried fear and disconnection—and didn’t understand why.
BEFORE: “Even though I had those moments where I’d feel God’s presence, His love, and care, I’d slip back into striving—thinking I had to ‘get it right’ to stay in His good graces. I lived by a checklist of spiritual performance. I was always trying to do enough to keep Him close. It was stressful, and honestly, I had a bit of resentment towards God.”
THE CRISIS POINT: “Then came the blow that undid me: my daughter was taken from me. Twice. Life felt like too much. I had glimmers of hope when Divine Presence would show up in small ways—but it didn’t last. The heaviness always returned. The doubts. The questionings. The feeling like I was being punished for something… and somehow God was keeping me in the dark.”
THE BREAKTHROUGH: “What surprised me most was discovering the core belief: ‘I’m not safe.’ That was huge. It changed everything. I finally understood why I struggled to trust God with my pain, why I couldn’t fully relax into His love. That belief—that I wasn’t safe—had been sabotaging my ability to show up authentically in my relationship with Him.”
WHAT CHANGED: “My relationship with God has changed. It’s no longer about doing all the ‘right things’ so He won’t leave me. It’s about love. It’s about trust. My obedience is no longer driven by fear but by love…love for a God who loved me even when I had nothing to give. I no longer live by a checklist. Even if I fall asleep mid-prayer or I don’t read 10 chapters in the Bible per day—I know He’s still with me. I know I’m loved.”
IN MOTHERHOOD: “I’m different, too. I’m not afraid of my daughter’s big emotions. I no longer take responsibility for fixing every unpleasant thing in her life. I make space for her to cry, to feel, to process those negative emotions. I don’t rush her out of it. I want her to experience the safety I never had.”
HER MESSAGE TO YOU: “My answer is yes. You are not alone. And what happened to you was not from God. He is not the one who hurt you. He’s not angry. He’s not distant. He wants to meet you right in the middle of your story. And He wants to rewrite it—with you.”

I feel so elated about my faith now. I am now forming truly deep connections with God on a regular basis, and my faith is growing stronger every day... He has proven Himself to be trustworthy!
KRISTINA TIJUNAIT, Wife, Homeschool Mom (retired), and Volunteer
Kristina felt stuck and unable to control what was happening around her, carrying fear, anxiety, and shame while asking herself why she couldn’t get it together like other people seemed to.
BEFORE: “In my faith, I was not able to fully trust God. Yes, I would trust him sometimes in certain situations, but not all the time, and not totally. I somehow thought I needed to be in control of certain things… I felt like there was some sort of blockage, and I couldn’t figure out why I could not trust God fully.”
THE SURPRISE: “What surprised me is the significant gains in healing that can be made compared to going it alone with a book. There is something about being in the presence of others who are compassionate and caring that lends itself to healing.”
THE BREAKTHROUGH: “I began to move out of a fixed mindset about my relationships. I was no longer feeling like a victim, not being able to do anything about my relationships. From a growth mindset perspective, I discovered that I could indeed change, and that my change could potentially produce changes in those around me. For the first time, I felt hopeful that I could have healthy relationships.”
WHAT CHANGED: “I feel so elated about my faith now. I am now forming truly deep connections with God on a regular basis, and my faith is growing stronger every day. I am learning to trust God more and more. He has proven Himself to be trustworthy! I feel safe in my relationship with God, as I have learned to truly know Him. I delight to be in His presence, and He delights in me.”
IN DAILY LIFE: “I now check in with myself daily and throughout the day to connect to what is going on in my heart and mind… I also check in with God to help me process my thoughts and feelings. I am always asking Him questions, and He is always answering me. I can hear His voice much clearer now and see how He is leading and guiding me.”
HER MESSAGE TO YOU: “Don’t wait! Run—don’t walk—to get the healing you need. You can indeed be free of the bondage and baggage that have been holding you down and holding back from God’s best for your life. God is in the business of healing, and He wants to heal your broken heart and restore you to who you were meant to be.”

WHAT THESE WOMEN HAVE IN COMMON
- They all felt spiritually disconnected despite loving God
- They all carried unexplained shame and fear
- They all wondered if something was wrong with them
- They all feared that healing meant losing their faith
- They all discovered that the opposite was true
BUT HERE IS WHAT I LEARNED
These women didn’t become “different people.”
They became themselves—the women they were always meant to be beneath the wounds, beneath the performance, beneath the fear.
They didn’t lose their faith.
They found the faith they’d always hoped was possible—one rooted in love, not fear; in truth, not performance; in belonging, not behavior.
They didn’t have to choose between healing and staying faithful. They discovered that healing and faith are meant to be companions.
“This sounds amazing, but will it work for ME?”
Maybe you’re thinking…
- “But my situation is different…”
- “But I’ve tried everything…”
- “But what if I’m too broken…”
- “But what if I’m not strong enough…”
This is what I found:
Every single woman who’s experienced freedom through this journey started with the same fears, the same doubts, the same whispered question: “Is it possible for me?”
The answer is yes!
Not because you’re perfect. Not because you have it all figured out. But because the God who created you for freedom is the same God who walks with you toward it.
And you don’t have to walk it alone.
Are you ready to discover what becomes possible when you finally break through those 12 hidden barriers?
Are you ready to come home?
But What If... Let's Talk About It
SOMETHING MAY BE SHIFTING IN YOU AS YOU READ THESE WORDS—A QUIET RECOGNITION, MAYBE EVEN A FLUTTER OF HOPE.
And alongside that hope, there might be a gentle voice of caution whispering questions: “Could this really work for me? What if I’m different?”
These feelings are so natural, and I want to honor them. Most women who’ve walked this path have felt the same tender mix of longing and uncertainty. Let me address what might be on your heart right now…
"What if I'm too broken for this to work?"
Listen to Kristina’s words: “I felt stuck and unable to fix what was going on around me… I felt a lot of shame, asking myself why I couldn’t get it together like other people seemed to.”
What happened: “I began to be joyful and experience true contentment even though things were far from perfect. This was all because I was learning how to connect with myself, my humanity, and how to be a human being created by God.”
Dear heart, you’re not too broken. You’re exactly the woman this journey was created for. The very fact that you’re still here, still hoping, still believing there might be more—that’s not brokenness. That’s resilience.
"What if healing means losing my faith? What if I go too far and can't find my way back?"
Hear Tekyia’s transformation:
“I was scared, too. Scared of letting go of everything I’d been taught about God. Scared that if I got too free, I’d lose my faith or even my salvation. And beneath all that was the aching question: What if nothing ever changes?”
What she discovered: “My relationship with God has changed. It’s no longer about doing all the ‘right things’ so He won’t leave me. It’s about love. It’s about trust… I no longer live by a checklist. Even if I fall asleep mid-prayer or I don’t read 10 chapters in the Bible per day—I know He’s still with me. I know I’m loved.”
Sweet sister, this journey doesn’t take you away from God—it brings you closer to His true heart. You won’t lose your faith; you’ll find the faith you always hoped was possible.
"What if my family doesn't understand? What if I lose the people I love?"
Tekyia shares about her parenting transformation:
“In motherhood, I’m different, too. I’m not afraid of my daughter’s big emotions. I no longer take responsibility for fixing every unpleasant thing in her life. I make space for her to cry, to feel, to process those negative emotions. I don’t rush her out of it. I want her to experience the safety I never had.”
“My friendships have changed, too. I can sit with others in their pain without rushing to fix them. I can tell the truth in love without judgment… There’s grace where there used to be control. There’s compassion where there used to be fear and judgment.”
Healing doesn’t destroy relationships—it transforms them. When you become healthier, you create space for others to be healthier too. And those who truly love you will celebrate the woman you’re becoming.
"What if I'm not strong enough? What if I can't handle what comes up?"
Listen to Simone’s honest words:
“I was struggling with fear. Fear in my relationships, fear in my faith. I didn’t know if I’d ever experience a true connection… Spiritually, I felt something was off. I noticed this tension between the God I personally sensed and the religious expectations around me.”
But here’s what surprised her: “At first, I was impatient. I thought: Aren’t we supposed to be fixing this? But that slow, steady presence actually gave me space to begin seeing the patterns in my own story. Even outside the sessions, I’d have these little a-ha moments while doing everyday tasks—realizing how I was responding to triggers or holding onto shame that wasn’t mine.”
You don’t need to be strong enough for the whole journey—you just need to be willing enough for the next step. This process is designed to hold you gently through every moment of breakthrough.
"What if I start and then want to quit? What if I waste this money?"
Kristina’s honest reflection:
“What surprised me is the significant gains in healing that can be made compared to going it alone with a book. There is something about being in the presence of others who are compassionate and caring that lends itself to healing.”
“In the group coaching, I was surprised that I could open up and feel safe in front of other people who had experienced religious trauma also and could relate to me. This turned out to be healing for me to know that there are others who understand and can empathize.”
You won’t want to quit because you won’t be alone. The community, the support, the gentle pacing—everything is designed to help you stay the course. And every small step counts, every breakthrough matters.
"What if this is just another thing that doesn't work? What if I get my hopes up and get disappointed again?"
Here’s what Kristina says now:
“Don’t wait! Run—don’t walk—to get the healing you need. You can indeed be free of the bondage and baggage that have been holding you down and holding back from God’s best for your life. God is in the business of healing, and He wants to heal your broken heart and restore you to who you were meant to be.”
This isn’t just another program—it’s a proven pathway. The women whose stories you’ve read didn’t get lucky. They followed a specific process, received specific support, and experienced specific transformation. The same process that’s waiting for you.
"What if I'm different from these women? What if my situation is more complicated?"
Let me tell you about the diversity of women who’ve found healing:
- Tekyia lost her daughter twice and sank into darkness
- Simone was navigating major life transitions and heartbreak
- Kristina felt unable to control anything in her life and carried deep shame
Different stories. Different struggles. Same barriers. Same healing.
The 12 Hidden Barriers show up differently in every woman’s life, but the path through them is the same. Your story is unique, but your need for healing isn’t. And neither is your capacity to receive it.
More Voices of Transformation
“I didn’t think I was allowed to question anything. Not my church. Not the way I was raised. And definitely not God. But something inside me was breaking.”
This is from my own story—and maybe yours too. Here’s what I discovered: questioning wasn’t rebellion. It was the beginning of relationship.
“I had no idea how deeply religious trauma was impacting me until I finally said yes to healing. Now I talk to God without fear. I set boundaries without guilt. I’ve finally found the joy, peace, and connection I always longed for—and I’m not going back.” — Kristina T.
“As a survivor of religious trauma, I didn’t even have words for my experience—until now. Debra’s work put words to my wounds and light on my path. Reading this felt like being seen for the first time.” — Faith G., Nairobi, Kenya
“My faith, my parenting, even my ability to rest—everything was shaped by religious trauma. I used to beg God to help me feel safe. This journey helped me find the safety I was missing—in Him, in myself, and in sisterhood. I didn’t feel alone anymore.” — Community Member

I had no idea how many false beliefs were running in the background of my life.
“Now I don’t feel lost or ashamed anymore—I feel grounded, whole, and closer to God than I’ve ever been.” —K. T.
For so long I felt like I was the only one — like no one would understand the pain of loving God but feeling crushed by the way I’d been taught to relate to Him.
“Coming Home helped me put language to my experience and showed me how to unravel what wasn’t mine to carry. I feel more grounded, more free, and more connected to God than I ever thought possible. It felt like coming back to life.” —S. F.
I used to live in fear — fear of messing up, fear of being rejected, fear of questioning.
“This program gave me back my voice. Through the milestones and live coaching, I could finally say the hard things without being silenced or shamed. I’m not afraid of my faith anymore. I’ve found peace, and I know I’m not alone.” —T. R.
A Personal Message From Debra
DEAR FRIEND, I’M, DEBRA SHAFER, AND I WANT YOU TO HAVE REAL, LASTING, SOUL-DEEP HEALING. I WANT YOUR FAITH TO FEEL SAFE AGAIN. I WANT YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE GOD WHO’S BEEN LOVING YOU ALL ALONG. IF I CAN FIND MY WAY HOME – SO CAN YOU.
For over 7 years, I’ve been walking alongside women just like you as a spiritual healing coach. I’ve guided many women through the Coming Home Journey, watched them break free from the 12 hidden barriers, and witnessed them discover that healing and faith truly can be companions.
But here’s what I need you to know: I’m not speaking to you as an expert who has all the answers. I’m speaking to you as a fellow traveler who has walked this exact path.
For decades, I was the helper, the volunteer, the spiritual overachiever. I tried to earn God’s love by doing everything “right.” But underneath all the striving, I felt disconnected—from God, from myself, and from the woman I longed to be.
I was raised where obedience was everything and questioning felt dangerous. I learned to smile when I wanted to scream, to stay faithful while feeling lost and unseen.
And then something shifted.
I finally realized that it wasn’t my faith that was failing—it was the version of it I’d been handed. The one rooted in fear, control, and silence.
I discovered there was a path forward. Not away from God, but deeper into His true heart. Not away from faith, but into a faith that breathes, that heals, that welcomes my whole heart.
I learned that healing and faith can be companions.
Now, I’ve created the compassionate, honest, Spirit-led healing journey I wish I’d had—one that doesn’t ask you to throw everything away, just to lay down what was never yours to carry.
This journey is about breaking through what’s been keeping you from the woman you’ve always been—the one created for freedom, designed for joy, called for purpose.
You don’t have to stay stuck. You don’t have to carry this alone. You don’t have to choose between healing and faith.
Your healing is calling. Step forward and come home.
I’m honored to walk beside you,
Debra
YOUR FREEDOM IS CALLING
She’s been waiting patiently—that woman you glimpse in quiet moments.
The one who talks to God without fear. The one who sets boundaries without guilt. The one who takes up space without apology. The one who loves herself without condition. The one who serves from overflow, not emptiness. The one who belongs everywhere because she belongs to herself and to God.
She’s not a different person. She’s who you’ve always been beneath the trauma, beneath the performance, beneath the fear.
Still Unsure?
